Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect during my first visit to the wound care center?
During your initial appointment, our team will thoroughly examine your wound, measure its size, and assess your overall health. We’ll review your medical history, current medications, and any allergies. Based on this evaluation, we’ll develop a personalized treatment plan for you.
What is hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) and how does it help wound healing?
HBOT involves breathing 100% oxygen in a pressurized chamber. This therapy increases the oxygen concentration in your blood and tissues, which can accelerate wound healing, fight infection, and promote the growth of new blood vessels.
How often will I need to visit the wound care center?
The frequency of visits depends on your specific wound and treatment plan. Initially, you may need to come in weekly for assessment and treatment. As your wound improves, visits may become less frequent. Your wound care team will create a schedule tailored to your needs.
Can I continue seeing my primary care physician while receiving wound care treatment?
Yes, we encourage you to continue seeing your primary care physician. We’ll work closely with your doctor to ensure coordinated care and keep them informed about your wound healing progress.
How can I schedule a mobile in-home wound care visit?
You can schedule an in-home visit by contacting our clinic directly. We recommend calling our team to discuss your specific wound care needs and arrange a convenient appointment to your residence.
How often will a nurse visit me for in-home wound care?
The frequency of visits depends on the severity and type of your wound. Typically, our nurses can schedule weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly wound care treatment plans. For more complex wounds requiring daily care such as bandage changes or wound cleaning, our team will arrange more frequent visits to ensure proper healing
What can I expect during my in-home wound care visit?
During an in-home visit, our registered nurse will assess and measure your wound, clean and dress the wound, check for signs of infection, provide personalized wound care education, document wound progress, and answer any questions you may have about your healing process.
