Dr. Khan Shirani, MD, MS, MBA, FACS, is a board-certified trauma surgeon and wound care specialist with more than 50 years of medical experience. He retired from the United States Army as a Colonel and previously served as Medical Director of the Brooke Army Burn Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. During his military career, he was awarded two Bronze Star Medals for his service and leadership.
Dr. Shirani is board certified in General Surgery, Aerospace Medicine, and Hyperbaric Medicine. He currently practices as a Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Specialist in San Antonio, Texas, and is affiliated with several area hospitals, including Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital of San Antonio and Methodist Hospital.
He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York and has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed scientific publications, which have received over 500 citations.
