Khan Shirani MD, MS, MBA, FACS is a trauma surgeon who retired from active duty US Army as colonel and the medical director of the Brooke Army Burn Center Fort Sam Houston TX. While on active duty he earned two Bronze medals. He is American Boards certified in Surgery, Aerospace Medicine and Hyperbaric Medicine. He now works as a Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Specialist in San Antonio, TX, where he is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital of San Antonio and Methodist Hospital. He received his medical degree from New York State University and has been in practice for 50 years. He has published more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and received over 500 citations.
